5 Best Things To Do In Or Near Fountain Colorado

1.Fountain Creek Regional Park

Fountain creek regional park is the first one because of how close it is to Fountain. It runs right through it! It is said to have almost 500 acres and it is full of wide open spaces, walking trails, dog parks and lots of animals and birds to see.

The park includes a lot of nature trails that could be somewhat difficult for some people. They wind their way through prairie and forest and you can see a lot of animals such as deer, racons, and especially in the warmer months. Snakes. Definitely not uncommon to see rattlesnakes out there.

It does tend to get somewhat crowded especially if you go on the weekends. Mountain bikers, dogs, walkers, runners, strollers, lol the whole nine yards. If you can go on a weekday but it’s enjoyable either way.

The park also has a dog park, pretty big and well cared for lawn, a nice pond where you can fish (with a a license of course).

Here are some recent reviews as of April 14,2023- Positive and negative

A beautiful park south of downtown COS. One observation I made while walking along the regional trail was the scent of the water. It’s a very distinct floral aroma, something that I found interesting. The scent followed the river. I passed plenty of dogs and bikers on the trail. Great park for families, group gatherings and those with dogs.

Prison toilets a total turn off!!! 🤢 Looked super nice pulling in, dog Park was built out well but I stayed for an hour and 3 dog parents came and left and all acted like my dogs weren’t good enough to play with theirs. The prison bathroom was gross and no soap or soap dispensers. Won’t be stopping here again

Restrooms: Steel prison toilets a total turn off… The lack of soap dispensers even more disgusting 🤢 10 out of 10 WOULD NOT stop here again”

The food was cooked fresh and it was delicious. The service was outstanding – she was very friendly, patient, and helpful. We were passing time while a realtor was showing my house, so I had my pups with me, and she gave them complimentary pup cups. It’s a nice little spot. We plan to return.

This place is great. People who work there are always friendly and positive. I live near by and always go through the drive through. I buy hot chocolate and it is delicious. I recommend this place.

What a cool place for the whole family. We had a lot of fun playing mini golf. Very beautiful and clean, great staff, nice decorations and fantastic outdoors! We would definitely recommend to everyone who likes mini golf! Dinosaur statues are so cool, and blue water flowing around the park.. King Kong is watching you ⛳️🦍”

We did 36 holes. We had such a good time here. Very nice place, clean and pretty. Its all about dinosaurs. There were waterfalls and a huge shark like Jaws there too.

Our 5 year old grandson loves this place. We went on his birthday and it was nicely decorated for Christmas. There’s a playground on the inside with reasonable hourly rates. If your child likes dinosaurs, this is definitely a fun place to go. Lost Island is fun for adults and kids of all ages. There are bounce houses, as well. For older kids, the ninja gym would be an adventure.

This place was so fun we had such a good time. Fun for all ages we went with my mom and my son and myself and my son was obsessed with the dinosaurs granny with the trick holes. It really was great.

Here are some recent reviews of magic town-

My husband and I stopped on a whim. We where not disappointed. The girl who checked us in was so sweet and funny. You pay a small price and get to tour the most amazing little miniature town. Make sure you don’t rush!! The scenes change! There is so much detail to take in. As a plus we decided to do the scavenger hunt. DO NOT pass this up!! At first we thought how silly. But we ended up having so much fun looking for everything! Make this a stop on your trip. It’s good hearted fun.

Had a great time with my Son and Daughter who are 7 and 8 years old. Had to remind them they can’t touch anyting and overall had a great time with the scavenger hunt. Glad we came by!

Really cool little place and the workers are super polite and helpful. Check it out if you like scavenger hunts and appreciate the effort put into the art. Really awesome place!”

5. Cave Of The Winds

Cave Of The Winds has so many unique experiences which you can hear more about here. Below are some customer experiences recently!

I really enjoyed the cave tour. Anna was an enthusiastic and fun tour guide, and the cave itself was interesting. It was a steady paced 1 hour, and although there were many sets of stairs, it was not a difficult walk. The view from the terrace at the entrance was glorious, and it’s worth the drive just for the view. I also did the “zip line” which is more of a zippy ski lift. The 2 minute ride was not quite worth the $15 price tag, but Paul, the operator was such a kind and interesting young gentleman.”

My wife and I did the discovery tour. We had about 15 people in our group. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. $26. Our tour guide was Maddie, and she was amazing! She is full of jokes. There are a lot of stairs and a few tight spaces but it was a great experience. I especially loved the part where they turn all of the lights off and you experience cave darkness!

Amazing experience! We purchased tickets for the 90 minute Haunted Tour and was truly impressed with the whole tour. Our tour guide, Reanna, done a phenomenal job of guiding, entertaining and informing. I don’t think we could’ve got a better guide to make it any more enjoyable! Since we were the last group to leave the caves; we got a bonus and were lead out through the Discovery Cave and was allowed to take inside pictures.”
